Is there a way to get out of Capital One Bank?
I would like to go with Chase instead.
First off, open a bank account at Chase before you leave Capital One Bank. That way you can write checks, make ATM debit card withdrawals or otherwise bank without interruption.
Make sure that any automatic deposits that may be coming into your account are transferred to the new Chase account. Same goes if you have automatic withdrawals being made on your account (i.e. utility bills).
Balance your checkbook and make sure all outstanding checks have cleared before you close your Capital One checking account. It might take a month or two for everything to clear out.
