Phillies Reds
Feb 18, 2012

wow what a great game and series between the phillies and reds?
so far, 3 extra inning games. 3 walk offs in a row by them phightins! perfect game through 8.1 innings for a rookie tonight, while halladay was his usual self. amazing series and game. thoughts so far?
Amazing series, 3 straight walk offs. Does not get more exciting than that. Roy pitched a fantastic game. 1.5 games out of first in the Wild Card, and .5 games out of second place in the division, bye bye Mets, they’ll be in third place soon.

Athlon Sports 2011 MLB Baseball Preview Magazine- Cincinnati Reds Cover $7.99 With pitchers and catchers ready to report for Spring Training and another MLB Opening Day just around the corner, the Athlon Sports 2011 Baseball Annual arrives in time to provide the preseason analysis and predictions craved by fans of the national pastime from the Bronx to the Bay and everywhere in between. We take a lap around the big leagues in 15 Things to Watch in 2011, examining hot topics such as the Phillies’ All-Star starting rotation, the reloaded Red Sox and Derek Jeter’s quest for 3,000 hits. Short Hops takes a look at the lighter side of a day at the ballpark with Tim Lincecum hecklers, the All-Twitter team, a Bobby Cox tribute gone wrong and the Calendar of the Weird, which chronicles oddball occurrences from 2010. In Penn Wise, Dollar Foolish, we decide whether the free-agent contracts signed by Carl Crawford, Jayson Werth, Cliff Lee and Co. were investor home runs or expensive swings-and-misses. This year’s magazine also includes the following features: Anatomy of an At-Bat We pick the brain of Braves future Hall of Famer Chipper Jones, who offers a pitch-by-pitch breakdown of his encounter with 100-mph-throwing Nationals phenom Stephen Strasburg. A Tale of Two Cities Different ailments afflict the small market Pittsburgh Pirates and big market New York Mets, but the symptom is the same: not enough wins. This year’s edition also includes a team-by-team preview of all 30 clubs, with rosters, stats and schedules as well as a look at the farm system. We also present our predictions for the 2011 American League and National League division races, playoffs and World Series, as well as MVP, Cy Young and Rookie of the Year. Finally, we give the bird dog scouts out there a preview of the Top 25 for college baseball and our All-Prospect team, headlined by Bryce Harper. Perez hit .309 with 34 home runs and 107 RBI for the Padres. His performance earned him a promotion to the Reds in the homestretch of the 1964 season. Pérez was selected to his first All-Star team in 1967. The game, played on July 11, 1967, at Anaheim Stadium, went into 15 innings and was then the longest All-Star Game in history. (The 2008 All Star Game also went to 15 innings, and is the longest All-Star Game in terms of elapsed time, at four hours 50 minutes.) It was Pérez’s home run off future fellow Hall of Famer Catfish Hunter that propelled the National League to victory. He was subsequently voted the Most Valuable Player of the 1967 All-Star Game. In 1970, Pérez hit the first home run in Pittsburgh’s Three Rivers Stadium. The 1970 campaign was his finest year, statistically: in addition to his 129 RBIs, Pérez hit .317, slugged 40 home runs and scored 107 runs. He came in third in the Most |
