Order Your Cubs Tickets for A Great Afternoon at the Ballpark
The baseball team, the Chicago Cubs, is easily one of the most famous sports franchises in the entire world. Each year millions of fans wait in line for their Chicago Cubs tickets to get a chance to root on the team they’ve followed for years. Some fans plan their entire vacation around the Chicago Cubs schedule for the chance to see the ivy-lined walls of Wrigley Field. Tickets to a Cubs game is a dream of many a fan, young and old.
Since the early 20th century, the Chicago Cubs have played in Wrigley Field. A trip to Wrigley Field is reason enough to purchase Chicago baseball tickets. There is no stadium quite like it in the entire world. Built in 1914, it seated just over 14,000 fans. Currently it can seat close to 41,000 fans after numerous updates and renovations.
Wrigley Field and Chicago Cubs will forever be linked and much of this is due in part to Wrigley’s many quirky features. The outfield walls are covered in ivy. This may be perhaps one of the most famous and most easily recognized attractions of any ballpark.
If you get the chance to order tickets from the Chicago baseball schedule, try to see if there are any rooftop seats available. Across the street from Wrigley and behind the fairly low outfield bleachers are a row of buildings which hold bleachers of their own. These bleacher seats are on the rooftops of those buildings and are actually outside the park. For years the existence of the rooftop seats was an eyesore, especially when the owners of those buildings began charging admission. Over time the Cubs’ owners agreed to a revenue sharing arrangement with the rooftop owners.
Today, fans can order tickets for games from the Chicago Cubs schedule in a multitude of different locations. Perhaps the easiest way is to attend a Cubs game is to purchase Cubbies tickets ahead of time and not have to worry about the game being sold out..
When you are looking over the Chicago baseball schedule searching for tickets, be aware that prices do vary depending on where you would like to sit and who the Cubs are playing that day. Some tickets come with perks such as waiter service and amenities, or maybe you would prefer to order Chicago baseball tickets that grant you access to the field either before or after the game. It all depends on how much money you are willing to spend and what would constitute a great day out at the ballpark for you. When you purchase tickets from the Chicago Cubs schedule, you can have them sent to your home address or put on hold to be picked up at the ballpark.

Chicago Cubs – Wrigley Field 1945 – Large – Framed Giclee $384.99 ?It?s a beautiful day, so lets play two?, the prophetic words of Mr. Cub Ernie Banks, symbolize baseball at one of the game?s last throw backs to his early years. With its ivy covered walls, and intimate surroundings, games at Wrigley are a happening. Through circumstance (lights towers that were purchased to be installed in the early 1940?s were donated to the war effort) to tradition, Wrigley Field only hosted day baseball until 1988. Even today only a limited number of night games are held per season. Wrigley has hosted some of baseball?s greatest moments, but none more so than the 1932 World Series, when as legend has it, Babe Ruth pointed to Center Field, and then blasted a long home run over the fence on the next pitch. Based on an original painting by Al Sorenson. Comes beautifully framed and matted. |

Chapters: Baseball, Lake Compounce, Dubonnet. Excerpt: A view of the baseball diamond at Wrigley Field , Chicago, Illinois . Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each. The goal is to score runs by hitting a thrown ball with a bat and touching a series of four bases arranged at the corners of a ninety-foot square, or diamond. Players on one team (the batting team ) take turns hitting against the pitcher of the other team (the fielding team ), which tries to stop them from scoring runs by getting hitters out in any of several ways. A player on the batting team can stop at any of the bases and later advance via a teammate’s hit or other means. The teams switch between batting and fielding whenever the fielding team records three outs. One turn at bat for each team constitutes an inning ; nine innings make up a professional game. The team with the most runs at the end of the game wins. Evolving from older bat-and-ball games, an early form of baseball was being played in England by the mid-eighteenth century. This game and the related rounders were brought by British and Irish immigrants to North America, where the modern version of baseball developed . By the late nineteenth century, baseball was widely recognized as the national sport of the United States. Baseball on the professional, amateur, and youth levels is now popular in North America, parts of Central and South America and the Caribbean, and parts of East Asia. The game is sometimes referred to as hardball , in contrast to the derivative game of softball . In North America, professional Major League Baseball (MLB) teams are divided into the National League (NL) and American League (AL). Each league has three divisions: East, West, and Central. Every year, the major league champion is |

A Chicago Firehouse: Stories of Wrigleyville’s Engine 78 (Voices of America Series) $21.99 From its humble beginnings in 1884 as a one-story frame building with one bay to house Hose Company 4 and its team of horses, Engine Company 78 has been the firefighting sentinel at the end of Waveland Avenue, sitting in the shadow of Wrigley Field. Using vintage photographs and moving stories from firefighters themselves, Karen Kruse captures the spirit and heroism of this historic Chicago landmark. Captain Robert F. Kruse served the Chicago Fire Department for 30 years, half of those at Wrigleyville’s Engine 78. Growing up within the tight-knit firefighting community, Ms. Kruse records the dramatic and touching stories from her father’s and his peers’ experiences, and combines them in this volume exploring the unique history of Lakeview’s firehouse, including a foreword by Mike Ditka and preface by Fire Commissioner James Joyce. With details about little known historic districts and a brief guide to Chicago’s cemeteries and their relations to firefighters, A Chicago Firehouse: Stories of Wrigleyville’s Engine 78 relays in first-hand accounts some of Chicago’s most fiery tragedies, the brave men who battled them, and the diversity of the neighborhood that housed them. |

Let’’s let her tell it. |

Are We Winning?: Fathers and Sons in the New Golden Age of Baseball $0.01 A hilarious tribute to baseball and to the fathers and sons who share the love of the game. Are We Winning is built around a trip to Wrigley Field to watch the St. Louis Cardinals play the Chicago Cubs—the "lovable losers" to most fans but the hated enemy to the Leitch men. Along for the ride are both Will’s father, the gregarious but not—exactly demonstrative Midwestern titan who, despite being a die—hard Cards fan and living his whole life just 200 miles south of Chicago, had never been to Wrigley Field before this game, and Will’s college friend, a lifelong Cubs fan. The Cardinals have recently fallen out of the pennant race, and the Cubs, as it turns out, are attempting to clinch the division on this Saturday afternoon in September. The pitchers are Ted Lilly for the Cubs and Joel Pineiro for the Cardinals. It’s just a regular game. Play ball. The book unfolds in half-inning increments where Will gives one-of-a-kind insight on the past, present, and future of the game—from Pujols’ unrivaled greatness to the myth that steroids have ruined baseball. Along the way, he shares memories of his father and growing up in the small town of Mattoon, including the year his dad coached his Little League team and nicknamed a scrawny kid "Bulldog," and an unlikely postgame episode involving a biker bar and Mr. Holland’s Opus. And there is beer. Lots and lots of beer. Are We Winning is a book about the indelible bond that links fathers and sons. For the Leitch men it’s baseball that holds them together—not that either of them would ever be so weak as to admit it. No matter how far apart they are or what’s going on in their lives, they’ll always be able to talk about baseball. It’s the story of being a fan, a story about fathers, sons, and legacies. And one perfect game. |
