End Stage

How long does a person live with end stage liver disease?
my husband has been in the hospital for the last three months and has just come home. He is living on lactulose and suffers from severe nausea. his kidneys failed but with dialysis they have opened up but are not functioning fully. His meld score is 17 does anyone know how long someone usually lives like this?
Well, first off here is some info on how I know the answer.
My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer in July 2007. It was metastatic (meaning it began somewhere else). At that point the doctors gave him 9 months to live… at the beginning of the 8th month he was having a hard time breathing… so we figured we would take him to the ER so that they could put him on oxygen… 3 days later he was returned home and passed away about 24 hours later…. This does not mean that your husband won’t live longer… all people are different…
However, I believe that hospice killed my father from mercy killing…. after all…. he ONLY went to the ER because he couldn’t breathe normal (he could still breathe and had an oxygen lvl of 92). They gave him enormous amounts of morphine and ativan… so… I really don’t know how much longer he would have survived if it wasn’t for those IDIOTS on the cancer ward…. anyway… Good luck and God bless… you and your family will be in my prayers!!!!! If you have any other questions feel free to ask!
Edit….
Sorry I just went back and re-read your question… liver disease is probably different from cancer… I missed that part… so probably disregard my answer….

Stage Mum $9.89 <p>When Lisa Gee’s six-year-old daughter, Dora, goes to an open audition for the West End production of <i>The Sound of Music</i>, it’s just a fun way to occupy some time in the Easter holidays. But when Dora unexpectedly lands the role, Lisa soon learns that Dora’s brush with fame has less to do with paparazzi and lucrative paydays and more to do with endless rehearsals and outsize egos.</p><p> </p><p> Part fairy tale, part cautionary tale, this is the hilarious, engaging account of one child’s step into the limelight. From the initial try-out with over a thousand Von Trapp hopefuls to performing on the London stage with Connie Fisher and an encounter with Julie Andrews, mother and daughter navigate the minefield of rehearsals, auditions and fame. (Why Don’t You Take) The Other Side? $13.99 Given that he’s got an extensive background as a pianist in Germany’s rich jazz scene — having made a home in Munich after moving from his native Milan — Robert Di Gioia’s work as the virtually one-man-band behind (Why Don’t You Take) The Other Side? comes as something of a surprise. No doubt he’s had to gradually ease out of some of the most defining traits of his original craft throughout his tenure as Marsmobil; though it began as an amalgam of lounge jazz and electronica in 1999, it fully culminates here with a far-removed, fascinatingly wide-ranging set sporting an abundance of tributaries. This is a tour de force of immaculately mind-bending pastoral pop, with an arsenal of instruments at play and only one finger on the trigger. Early album highlight and single “Crazy Colored Lights” utilizes a neat little tactic of segmenting the words of the title in a fleeting vocal harmony, and cycling them repeatedly as an isolated sonic tidbit floating over the rest — the perfect sonic equivalent of a kaleidoscopic image that does much to set the stage for what follows. One of the album’s two guests also shows up on this track in the form of a spoken word interlude by an entity known as the Illusionists, a strangely riveting out-of-left-field segment on a song that has already done much to ingratiate itself. You could swear that Mark Everett of Eels makes an appearance on the equally strong “Moon of Dust,” but as it turns out the song is intended merely as an “homage to Eels,” and is actually that much more impressive for it. At 16 tracks it would be tempting to assume there’d be some filler here, but this masterwork simply unfolds with nary a dull or derivative moment. Pianos and keyboard-driven sounds are the most consistently featured sonic implement, but in many cases they are used to lay the groundwork or simply twinkle at the higher end of the spectrum while other instruments take the spotlight. Such is the case with the deftly executed “Lolly,” which… |

1 meter (3.28 feet) – Better Cables Silver Serpent XLR Cable (Balanced Audio Cable) – PAIR (2 Cables) – High-End, High-Performance, Silver/Copper Hybrid, Low-Capacitance, Audiophile XLR Balanced Audio Cables (XLR Male to XLR Female) $99.95 Silky-smooth audio using our advanced precision conductors and industry-low capacitance measurements. This audio cable is a dual conductor, twisted pair configuration. It features 99.999% pure silver coated conductors. Balanced lines are the preferred method (for hum free) interconnecting of sound systems using a shielded twisted-pair. The principal behind balanced lines is that the signal is transmitted over one wire and received back on another wire. The shield does not carry any information, thus it is free to function as a true shield. This circuit’s shining virtue is its great common-mode noise rejection ability. The concept here relies on induced noise showing up equally (or common) on each wire. It is mainly due to EMI (electromagnetic interference: passing through or near magnetic fields), RFI (radio frequency interference: strong broadcast signals), noisy ground references, or a combination of all three. Our Silver Serpent II XLR cables exhibit exactly equal impedance from each line relative to ground, guaranteeing equal noise susceptibility. Since the balanced input stage amplifies only the difference between the lines, it rejects everything else (noise) that is common to the lines. |

1,2,3 Soleils [Mondo Melodia 2001] $14.99 On September 26, 1998, in Paris, France, one of the major events of Algerian music took place — the concert termed 1,2,3 Soleils. Together on the same stage Khaled (the king of rai), Rachid Taha (the musical rebel), and Faudel (rai’s young prince) entertained a crowd of over 14,000. It was a coming of age for the music and for the Algerians themselves, too long regarded as second-class citizens. The audience’s excitement is palpable right from the start, as the orchestra (arranged throughout by former prog rocker Steve Hillage) launches into the instrumental “Khalliouni Khalliounni” to massive cheers that only become louder as the three principals take the stage to share vocal duties on “Menfi.” From there it’s a series of duets and solos and two more trios in the middle before they come together for three more tunes at the end, culminating in an explosive version of the classic “Ya Rayah” before closing out with “Comme D’Habitude.” Certainly one of the most interesting pairings is “Eray” with Faudel and Khaled together, the youngster holding his own with the master. It’s tempting to think of it as handing on the baton, but instead it’s really two wonderful vocalists singing as if their lives depended on it — as is the case when they come together again for Khaled’s hit “Aicha.” For their solo spots (Khaled, as the biggest name, gets two), each man gives his party piece, “Ida” for Taha and the hit “Tellement N’Brick” for Faudel (Khaled contributes “Wahrane Wahrane” and an R&B take on his breakthrough “N’ssi N’ssi” that turns it into an Marvin Gaye-goes-rai number). Perhaps inevitably, it’s Khaled, the best-established and best-loved performer, who casts the longest shadow, and Taha, the iconoclast, who seems most in the background, although he does shine given his moments in the spotlight. It’s great music that is expansively performed and the album is a commemoration of a moment that’s as much historical as musical. ~ Chris Nickson, Rovi |

1.5ft Premier Series XLR Female to 1/4inch TRS Male 16AWG Cable (Gold Plated) $10.65 Monoprices line of Professional Audio cables brings you high performance cables at rock bottom prices. Whether youre connecting broadcast equipment, instruments for your band or your high end entertainment system, Monoprice has the interconnect cables for you. Balanced audio cables utilize impedance balanced lines that reduce EM and RF noise and extend the effective range of the cable run. Additionally, unlike standard unbalanced RCA interconnects that utilizes their braid as a signal return, balanced cables have a separate braided shield to provide additional resistance to interference without modulating the interference into the signal. This prevents ground loop issues. XLR to 1/4 TRS balanced pro audio cables provide high fidelity and eliminate noise in the recording studio and on the stage. Our new Permier Series cables up the ante in terms of construction quality and performance. |

1/2 meter (1.56 feet) – Better Cables Silver Serpent XLR Cable (Balanced Audio Cable) – PAIR (2 Cables) – High-End, High-Performance, Silver/Copper Hybrid, Low-Capacitance, Audiophile XLR Balanced Audio Cables (XLR Male to XLR Female) $89.95 Silky-smooth audio using our advanced precision conductors and industry-low capacitance measurements. |

12 meter (39.36 feet) – Better Cables Silver Serpent XLR Cable (Balanced Audio Cable) – PAIR (2 Cables) – High-End, High-Performance, Silver/Copper Hybrid, Low-Capacitance, Audiophile XLR Balanced Audio Cables (XLR Male to XLR Female) $319.95 Silky-smooth audio using our advanced precision conductors and industry-low capacitance measurements. |

It is mainly due to EMI (electromagnetic interference: passing through or near magnetic fields), RFI (radio frequency interference: strong broadcast signals), noisy ground references, or a combination of all three. Our Silver Serpent Reference Microphone Cable cables exhibit exactly equal impedance from each line relative to ground, guaranteeing equal noise susceptibility. Since the balanced input stage amplifies only the difference between the lines, it rejects everything else (noise) that is common to the lines. |

1864: Lincoln at the Gates of History $17 At the beginning of 1864, the Civil War was far from won; terrible and bloody Union setbacks and casualties lay ahead. Chase, challenged him for the Republican nomination. But by the end of the year, the war’s end was in sight, and slavery was on the verge of extinction.Despite all the turmoil of war and political infighting, Lincoln also set the stage for a new era of westward expansion. He shaped the decades to come through laws and subsidies that propelled railroads westward, by the Homestead Act that offered western lands to immigrant farmers and by the Act to Encourage Immigration that enabled 615,000 men, women, and children to arrive in America during the Civil War.As the year ended, John Wilkes Booth, who stalked Lincoln throughout 1864… |

Chapters: States and Territories Established in 1870, French Third Republic, Republic of Ploieşti, Prisoner in the Vatican, Provisional Government of Saskatchewan. Excerpt: Dark blue: French RepublicLight blue: Colonies, mandates, and protectorates of France The French Third Republic (French: , sometimes written as ) was the republican government of France between the end of the Second French Empire (following the defeat of Louis-Napoléon in the Franco-Prussian War) in 1870 and the Vichy Regime after the invasion of France by the German Third Reich in 1940. Adolphe Thiers, recognized as and one who rallied himself to the Republic in the 1870s, called republicanism in the 1870s “the form of government that divides France least”. The Third Republic endured seventy years, making it the longest lasting regime in France since the collapse of the Ancien Régime in the French Revolution of 1789. In 1852, Napoleon III abolished the Second French Republic to become the second Emperor of the French, following the earlier example of his uncle Napoleon I. However, the Second French Empire lasted only eighteen years because of the emergence of the German Empire, which quickly grew to dominate Continental affairs after defeating the French in the Franco-Prussian War. 2 meter (6.56 feet) – Better Cables Silver Serpent XLR Cable (Balanced Audio Cable) – PAIR (2 Cables) – High-End, High-Performance, Silver/Copper Hybrid, Low-Capacitance, Audiophile XLR Balanced Audio Cables (XLR Male to XLR Female) $119.95 Silky-smooth audio using our advanced precision conductors and industry-low capacitance measurements. |
